Strategies:

Here are some speech and language strategies to help your child learn language:

Speak to your child in your mother tongue. This will be more natural for you and your child will hear many words and sentences.

Be face-to-face when you talk with your child. This will help them see how to make sounds and words by watching your lips, tongue and teeth move.

Read to your child. Choose books that they like and read them over and over again!

Sing songs and nursery rhymes. Sing the same songs and nursery rhymes often during your day. If your child is having fun, they are learning!
